There is something uniquely grounding about the process of candle making. Whether you are looking to master a new skill or simply want to spend a meaningful afternoon with friends, this workshop offers a hands-on, transparent look at the craft.
We skip the "kits" and dive straight into the actual science of soy wax. You will leave not just with a finished product, but with the knowledge of how a quality candle is actually built.
What You Will Learn
This is a comprehensive session designed to take the guesswork out of candle making. We cover:
Wax & Temperature Control: Why soy wax requires specific pouring temperatures to achieve a smooth finish.
The Math of Scent: How to calculate fragrance percentages so your candle smells great without being overpowering or unsafe.
Wick Science: Selecting the correct wick size based on container diameter to ensure a clean, even burn.
The Pouring Technique: Mastering the steady hand needed for professional results.
Creative Details: Adding colour and crafting a signature coloured wax flower to top off your creation.
The Finished Product
Each participant will create and take home a 20cl soy wax candle, customized with your choice of fragrance and a decorative wax flower.
Workshop Details & Logistics
I aim to make these sessions as flexible as possible to suit your occasion.
Group Size: Up to 12 people.
Locations:
My dedicated studio space.
Your home or private venue (perfect for birthdays or hen parties).
Business collaborations (ideal for team-building or retail events).
Travel: I am happy to travel to you. Sessions held outside of a 10-mile radius from my studio will incur a modest travel fee. If I come to your home or business a 6ft table with chair per person and electrical power source for wax pots will need to be provided.
Optional Add-ons
If you’d like to make the session a bit more celebratory, we can provide Prosecco, fresh strawberries, and chocolates for a small additional cost per person.
