An evening of candle making and cocktails in one of the loveliest spots on the Thames.
Join us at The Lockdown Lodge for a relaxed evening of making, sipping and slowing down. With the river in front of you and a cocktail in hand, you’ll pour and finish your own scented candle to take home, boxed and bagged and ready to gift (or keep).
No experience needed. We’ll guide you through the basics — working with the wax, getting the temperature right, fragrancing, wicking and pouring — so you leave with a candle you’ve made yourself and the know-how behind it. Just bring yourself and a sense of occasion.

Arrive & settle — grab your cocktail and your seat by the water
The basics — a quick, friendly run-through of how it all works
Make your candle — choose your scent, then pour and wick your own
Wind down — relax with your drink while your candle sets, then box it up to take home

Do I need any experience? None at all — this is for complete beginners, and we’ll guide you through every step.
Can I come on my own? Absolutely. Plenty of people do, and it’s a friendly, easy evening to enjoy solo or with friends.
Do I take my candle home the same night? Yes — we’ll box and bag it for you. Soy wax stays soft for a little while after pouring, so we’ll let you know when it’s ready to travel.
When do I choose my cocktail? Either order ahead or simply choose on the night — whatever suits.
