The fragrance
Some candles smell familiar the moment you light them. The Clearing doesn’t. This is a fragrance built from scratch — layered, tested, and refined over time until it became something that couldn’t be found anywhere else.
It opens with something immediately alive. A bright, tart rush of elderflower and wild berry, the kind of scent that feels like stepping out into clear air after being inside too long. There’s a caramelised sweetness underneath — dried fruit against the sharpness — that stops it from being simply fresh and makes it linger in your memory.
As it settles, a sharp citrus heart comes through. Zesty and herbal, with peppery green notes and the warmth of mandarin threading through. The kind of complexity that takes time to build. It unfolds slowly, the way a good fragrance should.
Beneath everything, the quietest layer: cool, clean green tea and a thread of spiced ginger that grounds the whole composition, gives it depth, and keeps it burning beautifully from the first hour to the last.

Made at Craft & Create
Every fragrance at Craft & Create is original. Not bought in. Not a dupe. Not relabelled. Developed, blended and tested entirely in our studio at Folly Farm in Basingstoke — by hand, with years of formulation behind every decision.
The Clearing took time to get right. The balance between bright and grounded, fresh and complex, energising without being sharp. Each element was chosen deliberately, blended in layers, and burn-tested through every stage — melt pool, scent throw, burn rate — until it was exactly right.
This is what slow, intentional making looks like. A candle built around a feeling.
The wax
Poured into a premium European plant-based wax — a blend of rapeseed and coconut, sustainably grown and produced, free from paraffin, soy and palm. This wax was chosen for the way it holds and releases fragrance — slowly and fully, filling a room without ever becoming sharp or synthetic. It burns cleanly, with a smooth, even melt pool and a long, consistent burn time from beginning to end.
The vessel
Hand-poured into an amber apothecary jar — a format chosen for its heritage and its function. Amber glass protects the fragrance from light degradation, preserving the integrity of the scent across every burn. The jar is designed to be kept.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If skin irritation or rash occurs, or if eye irritation persists: Get medical advice. Collect spillage. Dispose of contents and container in accordance with local regulations.
