Pillar candles are a different discipline entirely. Where a container candle is poured and left, a pillar must hold its own shape — which demands a different wax, a different process, and a more considered approach to temperature and timing.
In this 2-hour class you’ll work through two techniques that sit at opposite ends of the design spectrum. One is precise and methodical. The other is instinctive and creative. Both produce something genuinely beautiful to take home.
What You Will Make
The Ombré Pillar — a gradient candle built up in carefully controlled colour layers. You’ll learn the temperature management and timing required to achieve clean, seamless transitions from light to deep.
The Inclusion Candle — a clear pillar candle filled with hand-cast wax shapes. You’ll arrange a curated selection of seasonal wax botanicals — flowers, leaves, and nature-inspired forms — inside your mould before a clear overpouring wax suspends your chosen shapes like pressed botanicals caught in glass.
Both candles will remain at the studio after class to set undisturbed. They’ll be carefully unmoulded, packaged, and posted directly to you within two days.

Age Requirements: Suitable for participants aged 16 and over. Please email hello@craft-create.co.uk before booking a younger participant.
Arrival: Please arrive 5 minutes early to settle in. If you are more than 10 minutes late without notice your spot will be considered redeemed. We are flexible if you are running late, life happens, and we will do our best to include you depending on how late you are.
Minimum Numbers: Classes require a minimum of 6 participants. We will contact you at least 10 days before if numbers aren’t reached, and offer an alternative date or full refund.
Cancellations & Rescheduling: 10 days notice required to reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged in full.
Payment: Full payment required at booking.
