Craft & Create: The Signature Candle Making Workshop
Welcome to the studio. I’m Vedia, and I would love to invite you to a hands-on morning of genuine candle making.
Whether you are coming with a friend or treating yourself to some solo creative time, this workshop is all about relaxing, learning a beautiful craft, and enjoying some lovely coffee, tea, and pastries along the way. I have been pouring candles for years, supplying local shops and teaching annually at Living Crafts at Hatfield Park, and I am looking forward to sharing the science and art of soy wax with you.
What You Will Make
Over the course of our session, you will complete three beautiful projects to take home:
1 x luxury 20cl soy wax glass candle, finished with your own handcrafted coloured wax flower.
1 x soy wax tin candle.
A batch of scented room fresheners or wax melts.
What You Will Learn
We will be doing more than just melting wax. You will learn the actual craft and science behind making high-quality home fragrances. As we work, I will guide you through:
The Wax & Equipment: Getting to know your tools and why eco-friendly soy wax is so wonderful to work with.
The Math of Fragrance: How to calculate precise fragrance oil percentages so your creations smell beautiful without sweating or bleeding.
Wicking: How to choose the correct wick size for both your glass and tin containers to ensure a clean, even burn.
The Perfect Pour: Understanding melting and pouring temperatures to get a smooth, professional finish across different containers.
Crafting the Flower: How to work with pillar wax to create, colour, and gently demould the delicate wax flower that will sit perfectly on top of your glass candle.

Dates & Times: Saturdays, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Please check date availability when booking.
Venue: Craft & Create, Unit 8, Folly Farm, Kingsclere Road, Basingstoke, Hants, RG26 5GJ.
Refreshments: Coffee, tea, and pastries are provided. Please let us know if you have any food allergies when booking.
Booking Policies & The Fine Print
To keep our small studio running smoothly, please read through our booking policies before securing your spot.
Age Requirements: Our workshops are designed for adults aged 16 and over. If you would like to bring a younger crafter, please email us at hello@craft-create.co.uk first to discuss whether the session is suitable.
Arrival: Please aim to arrive about 5 minutes before we start so you can grab a hot drink, get settled, and not miss any of the instructions. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we will need to begin the workshop without you if there are others in attendance, and your ticket will be considered redeemed.
Minimum Numbers: Workshops require a minimum of 6 people to go ahead. In the rare event we do not reach that number, we will contact you at least 10 days before your class to rearrange a date that suits everyone. If we cannot find an alternative date that works for you, you will receive a full refund.
Cancellations & Rescheduling: If you need to change or cancel your date, please give us at least 10 days' notice so we have time to fill your seat. Without 10 days' notice, or in the event of a no-show, the full workshop fee will be charged as the materials and space have already been allocated. Any decision to offer an alternative arrangement for last-minute cancellations will be at our discretion.
Payment: All bookings must be paid in full upfront to secure your reservation and allow us to order the ingredients.
Private Events & Gift Vouchers
Private Workshops: We run private workshops for groups of 6 or more, which are perfect for birthdays, celebrations, or team events. Please email us at hello@craft-create.co.uk to request a private booking.
Gift Vouchers: We offer both digital and physical gift vouchers (please select your preference at checkout). They are valid for exactly 1 year from the date of purchase and can be used for any workshop run directly by Craft & Create. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
