The fragrance
The Winter Wood opens with Christmas tree — fresh-cut, resinous, that unmistakable sap-and-needle smell of a real tree just brought indoors. Sharp and green, a little sticky-sweet at the edges the way fresh pine sap actually is, arriving all at once rather than easing into a room.
Beneath that, moss and something quietly musky — deep, a little dark, the sense of standing further into the trees than the light reaches. It’s what gives this candle its weight, stopping the pine from staying purely sharp and one-note the whole way through.
And running through both, winter berries — tart, bright, faintly sweet. Just enough of a lift to stop the whole thing feeling too solemn, like frost catching on something red against all that green.
This is a fragrance for the shortest, coldest days. For walking into the woods on a morning when your breath shows in the air.
Made at Craft & Create
Christmas tree leads here, sharp and resinous, capturing that real fresh-cut sap smell. Moss and musk sit underneath, giving it depth without losing the freshness. Winter berries keep it from feeling too heavy.
Developed, blended and poured entirely in house at our studio at Folly Farm.
The wax
The wax in every Craft & Create candle is a European plant-based blend — rapeseed and coconut, sustainably sourced, with nothing added that doesn’t need to be there. No paraffin. No soy. No palm. No synthetic fillers.
The vessel
The amber apothecary jar is a considered choice, not an aesthetic one — though it happens to be both. Amber glass filters light in a way that protects fragrance compounds from degradation, keeping the integrity of the scent consistent from the first burn to the last. Designed to be refilled, repurposed, kept.
