Open Windows
Fresh · Renewal
The fragrance
Open Windows doesn’t announce itself. It arrives the way good air does — quietly, cleanly, and with an immediate sense of something lifting.
It opens with crisp green cucumber and cool spearmint, bright and alive, the kind of freshness that feels like a window thrown open on the first warm morning of the year. There’s a thread of ginger running beneath it — not sharp or spiced, just warm enough to give the coolness some body, some edge.
As the candle settles into its burn, the heart opens up. Peppery basil, radiant neroli blossom, jasmine, a hint of citrus. Herbal and floral at once — uplifting without being sweet, complex without being heavy. The kind of scent that changes slightly as the room warms, revealing something new each time you return to it.
And then, so quietly you almost miss it: the secret layer. Earl Grey. Bergamot and tea leaves, cool cucumber threading through, a whisper of amber and precious woods at the base. Something refined and grounding that stops this from being simply fresh and makes it unforgettable.
This is a fragrance about renewal. About clearing the air — literally and otherwise.
Made at Craft & Create
There are fragrances that work because one note dominates. Open Windows works because none of them do.
This is a blend built on conversation — three elements chosen not for how they perform individually, but for what happens when they meet. The coolness of the first layer. The herbal warmth of the second. The quiet, refined depth of the third. Each one holds the others in check, and the result is something you can’t quite pin down, can’t reduce to a single word, and find yourself reaching for again.
A long process of formulation goes into every decision made in our studio at Folly Farm. The testing. The adjusting. The burn checks at every stage. The discipline of knowing when to stop. Open Windows took all of that. It’s an original fragrance — developed, blended and poured entirely in house. You won’t find it anywhere else.
The wax
The wax in every Craft & Create candle is a European plant-based blend — rapeseed and coconut, sustainably sourced, with nothing added that doesn’t need to be there. No paraffin. No soy. No palm. No synthetic fillers.
What makes it exceptional is the way it carries fragrance. Plant-based waxes hold scent differently — they release it more gradually, more fully, building in a room rather than announcing themselves all at once. With a fragrance as layered as Open Windows, this matters. You need a wax that gives each element room to breathe, to surface at its own pace, to change as the candle burns. This one does.
The vessel
The amber apothecary jar is a considered choice, not an aesthetic one — though it happens to be both. Amber glass filters light in a way that protects fragrance compounds from degradation, keeping the integrity of the scent consistent from the first burn to the last.
The jar itself is substantial. Weighty in the hand. Designed to be refilled, repurposed, kept. At Craft & Create, nothing is made to be thrown away.
