The fragrance
Faded Silk is a memory of something. Not a specific one — more a feeling. The kind of scent that makes you pause when you catch it, certain you recognise it, unable to say exactly from where.
It opens softly. A hypnotic amber — warm and resinous, with an intimate heart of sandalwood and the earthy depth of Indonesian patchouli. Rich without being heavy. Grounding without being dark. This is the foundation that everything else rests on, and it gives the fragrance an immediate warmth that feels almost skin-like.
Then the rose arrives — an English rose, soft and classical, with green notes and violet and a whisper of geranium. Not sweet, not sharp — the kind of rose that actually smells like the flower, unhurried and full. It sits above the amber like light on fabric, and the two together create something that feels both familiar and unexpectedly refined.
And then the secret, barely there: bergamot sparkling at the edges, pink pepper, juniper, incense. A heart of jasmine and rock rose and velvet woods. Ambergris and musk at the base. Patchouli threading through from beginning to end. Something that stops this from being simply a floral and makes it something far more interesting — warm and complex and quietly sensual.

Made at Craft & Create
Some fragrances announce themselves. Faded Silk doesn’t. It reveals itself — slowly, in layers, as the wax warms and the room fills.
The amber and patchouli do most of the structural work. They are the foundation — warm, grounding, persistent. But without the rose to soften them, they risk becoming too heavy. And without the bergamot and musk to lift the whole thing at the edges, the blend wouldn’t breathe. Every element was chosen for what it contributes to the others, not just to the fragrance in isolation.
Blended and poured entirely in house at our studio at Folly Farm. Tested across every stage of the burn — cold throw, hot throw, melt pool, scent distribution. Original. Unrepeatable anywhere else. The result of ten years of formulation and the particular kind of patience that good fragrance work requires.
The wax
A European plant-based wax — rapeseed and coconut — that handles warm, resinous fragrances with exceptional consistency. Amber and patchouli are rich base notes that ask a lot of a wax. This one carries them without distortion, releasing the full complexity of the blend gradually and evenly across the entire burn.
Sustainably sourced. Free from paraffin, palm, soy, and synthetic fillers. A slow, clean burn that lets the fragrance develop rather than simply perform.
The vessel
The amber apothecary jar holds its contents the way the fragrance holds its warmth — quietly, and with intention. Amber glass preserves the integrity of the scent between burns, protecting the fragrance compounds from light degradation. The jar is substantial. It belongs on a shelf permanently, long after the last burn.
