The Winter Pomander
Chapter IV: The Wintering
The Fragrance Story
The Winter Pomander is a sensory portrait of the heritage home’s most enduring winter ritual. It captures the sharp, restorative scent of sun-drenched citrus being preserved for the shortest days—specifically the thick, oil-rich rinds of bitter oranges and the medicinal heat of whole cloves. This is a sophisticated "spiced-citrus" fragrance, designed to lift the atmosphere with a sense of clarity and "indoor sun" while the garden remains dormant beyond the workshop glass.
The fragrance is defined by a heart of bitter orange and clementine, grounded by a warming base of crushed clove buds and a touch of aromatic cinnamon bark. To achieve our signature realism, every batch is finished with our signature Botanical Blend—a proprietary infusion of raw citrus oils and organic spice barks added at our family workshop bench. This final addition provides a "zesty-warm" depth that mimics the realism of a hand-crafted pomander, creating a warmth that feels bright, revitalising, and profoundly clean.
The Heritage Craft
Housed in our signature 250ml Silver Preservation Tin, The Winter Pomander is a piece of functional workshop hardware. We chose this traditional ‘Lever Lid’ vessel for its airtight seal; it acts as a vault for our Botanical Blends, ensuring the finer, complex citrus and spice notes remain as potent as the day they were poured.
Every tin is a labour of patience. We hand-pour our bespoke Coconut and Soy wax in small, intentional batches at our family workshop. Each is finished with a textured cream label, raw jute twine, and our signature metallic bronze C&C seal.
